Almost ready for Mother's Day

Some of you may recall I am making this quilt for my MIL for Mother's Day this year. I need a deadline to get things finished.
Having this group has been a huge motivation as well.
I love checking everyone's progress and seeing the different choices of thread and fabrics chosen.

Here's what I have completed lately.
I finished the last of the stitcheries I had chosen on a recent holiday.
I ran out of blue thread so improvised with a combination of colours for the last block. Shhh...don't tell my MIL!

I used the Labour Day long weekend to put the top together.
I wasn't happy with some of my first stitcheries so I didn't include them.
As I am only making a lap-sized quilt I found 12 stitcheries to be just right.

I loved playing around with all the fabrics and loved how easy this quilt is to sew together!

Now for the backing, quilting and binding and a special label for the back!

I have loved doing this project and will keep going with more of the blocks, maybe for me this time??
